As an assistant coach, I’m supposed to be all about fun and fair play at my son’s little league game. Be a good sport, I’ll tell them. Don’t be afraid to tell a player on the other team that he did a good job. This is more than just baseball, it’s a chance to have a great time with your teammates, do your best, and by all means, remember the Little League Pledge…
I trust in God
I love my country
And will respect its laws
I will play fair
And strive to win
But win or lose
I will always do my best
As I give my player visual signs and verbal support from my third base coaching position, these are the lessons I will teach.
